That combination, plus Hill’s 31 saves, gave Vegas the lead in the series after a feisty opener between Sun Belt teams who wasted little time getting acquainted with big hits during play and plenty of post-whistle pushing and shoving.Original Knights players Jonathan Marchessault and Shea Theodore also scored on Florida’s two-time Vezina winner Sergei Bobrovsky. Back in the final, they’ll now try to avoid the same result as in 2018, when Vegas beat Washington in Game 1 and lost the next four to fall short of hoisting the Cup in its inaugural se...

Henderson struck out in the top of the second but took his position the next half inning, fielding a ground ball and throwing across to first for the out, seemingly without issue. But MASN cameras showed Henderson grimacing and reaching for his back after making the throw.Entering this season as baseball’s top prospect and a favorite for American League Rookie of the Year, Henderson, 21, started the season slowly but has heated up of late. He came into Saturday hitting .258 with an .824 OPS over his past 18 games, compared with a .170 average and .651 OPS before the stretch. Friday’s home run, a seventh-inning solo...

Concert review: Brooks and Dunn delight near-capacity Xcel Energy Center crowd

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 13:54:56 GMT

Reunited country duo Brooks and Dunn headlined St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center for the first time in 13 years Saturday night. And, in a way, the evening felt like a throwback to the days of 2010.For starters, tickets were reasonably priced compared to a lot of the competition. That, and the fact the duo played most of the songs from their 2010 show. It’s not like they don’t have more to choose from, as they scored more than 40 Top 10 hits in the ’90s and ’00s, including 20 No. 1s.Then again, these guys have been doing this for decades and have clearly figured out what songs work best in a live setting. Ronnie Dunn (the one with the hair) and Kix Brooks (the one with the mustache) were struggling solo acts when a producer suggested they join forces in 1990. After nearly two decades, they decided to call it quits with a 2010 farewell tour. But after becoming struggling solo acts once again, the pair reunited in 2015 to play Vegas with Reba McEntire and have...

Twins starter Sonny Gray has had better days this season, but not any bad ones — his first loss of the season on Saturday night notwithstanding.Gray made one pitch he would like to have back, and it cost him and the Twins in a 4-2 loss to the Cleveland Guardians before an announced crowd of 27,153 at Target Field.Gray, whose record now stands at 4-1, sailed through six innings and took a 2-1 lead to the mound in the top of the seventh.  A two-run homer by Will Brennan gave the Guardians a 3-2 lead. It was the first home run Gray has allowed this season.Gray was replaced by Jovani Moran after giving up a pair of two-out singles, and Moran got the next batter to end the inning. The Guardians added a run in the ninth on a home run by Steven Kwan.“They’ve been aggressive, and I also wanted to be aggressive on my side,” Gray said. “They got a lot of singles, a lot of knocks, and then I gave up the two-run homer in the seventh. You throw three fairly quality pitches to the previous batter,...
