Albany Rebels hosting Irish sports training session series

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Rebels Gaelic Athletic Association announced they will be hosting a free series of indoor Irish sports practice sessions. The Rebels, who compete in the Midwest Division of the United States Gaelic Athletic Association, specialize in Gaelic football and hurling, both of which are traditional sports that are popular in Ireland. Gaelic football has similarities with rugby, soccer and basketball, while hurling is reminiscent of lacrosse. Anyone who has ever had an interest in learning about or trying out Irish sports is invited to participate. While free to attend, a majority of the sessions will be held at Afrim's in Colonie, which requires a yearly $15 membership and a signed waiver, both of which can be completed online or at the practice sessions. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 50-year-old woman from Duanesburg is facing charges following an investigation into checks being reported stolen from a business in Schenectady. State Police arrested Elizabeth A. Dolder on Wednesday, November 15. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! On October 3, the business reported to police that the check had been intercepted. Police determined that Dolder had attempted to cash the check in Rotterdam in September. Investigations also discovered that Dolder tried to cash another check issued by the same company in Niskayuna in October. She was arrested at her home for two counts of second-degree forgery, two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree. FORT BLISS, Texas - A Missouri National Guardsman deployed along the Texas-Mexico border received the Soldier Medal earlier this month for rescuing a mother and her two children from drowning while attempting to cross the Rio Grande.Sgt. 1st Class Aaron Lemon was deployed with the Department of Homeland Security on Dec. 17, 2022, when he received a request for a river rescue from the U.S. Border Patrol and the Texas Department of Public Safety. The Missouri Army National Guard claims the Rio Grande current was about to sweep away a woman and two young children. Lemon, a staff sergeant at the time, went to the river bank, donned a flotation device, and attempted to toss the family a rope.Unfortunately, high vegetation made it difficult for the rope to land near the family. CASTLE POINT, Mo. -- A St. Louis County man is accused of breaking a woman's legs after hitting her with his car on Saturday. Otis Goff, 33, is being charged with driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving with a revoked license. His bond is set at $350,000, cash-only.Court documents state that Goff was speeding on Baron Drive at around 6:00 p.m. Saturday. A witness tells officers that he swerved to hit a woman standing at the rear of a parked vehicle. This pinned the woman between the vehicles.A child got out of Goff's car before he left the scene.
